Learn to Read the New Testament in Greek by making Koine Greek an enjoyable part of your life. Taught by a seminary professor with a love of Greek and God.
Personally Guided Class Begins October 3
Since I started Greek for Everyone five years ago, hundreds of students have worked through the class. But many have expressed a desire for more personal guidance, along with the structure and camaraderie of a class. Here’s some great news:
On October 3, I will personally guide a group
of no more than 20 students
through their first year of Greek.
Live sessions every week on Tuesdays at 8:00 PM Pacific Time. (Every session will be recorded in case you are in the wrong time zone or have to miss or just to go back and review.)
The structure and of a syllabus and weekly assignments
The support and camaraderie of a class
Easy access to me throughout the week when you get stuck
Personal encouragement to keep you moving
I remember what it was like to…
Listen to people use Greek and wonder if they knew what they were talking about.
Read commentaries and get lost when they mentioned started talking about tense of a verb or case of a noun. I couldn’t even pronounce the Greek words!
Talk about Greek meanings of words but wonder if I was right.
I also know how great it is to read the New Testament in Greek every morning.
I see connections and nuances in Scripture that are impossible to see in translation.
Words and theological concepts come to life.
My study, teaching, and preaching have new freshness and force.
I want this for you! That’s what Greek for Everyone is all about.
Imagine yourself in less than a year, part of the very tiny company of people who can pick up a Greek New Testament and read it, people like C.S. Lewis, D.A. Carson, andN.T. Wright.
Those guys are geniuses. But here’s a secret: Most people who can read Greek are not geniuses. They are simply people who have stuck with it. You will be absolutely amazed how much progress you can make when you are consistent. I’m here to ensure that it happens.
The cost of participating in this special live class is just $49 a month.
One of my main goals it so make Greek affordable for anyone. You’ll find that other personally directed Greek classes ask you to pay for the entire class up front, usually between $500 and $1000. I secretly suspect that they do this because they know most students will give up long before they reach the finish line. That’s not how I roll. If you drop, the payments stop. If you aren’t making progress, or “life happens,” or if you want to stop for any reason at all, just send me an email and I will take care of it. And just so there is no risk to you for trying the class, if you cancel during the first month, I will happily refund your first month’s tuition.
Class begins October 3
To ensure that everyone has a great experience, I am limiting class size to just 20 students. Sorry, but I have to be strict about this limit.
Enroll today to reserve your seat. (You won’t be charged until class begins on October 3.)
Learning Greek is one of the best ways to stop handling God’s Word sloppily. Take it from the Apostle Paul: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)
You can download the syllabus here if you want to check it out. Don’t worry if there are weeks when you won’t be able to participate. The pace of this class is slow enough that you will be able to catch up if you have to miss a week here and there.
I hope to be reading Greek with you very soon!
P.S. If you know someone who may be interested, please forward this invitation along. Also, you might find it even more powerful if you could find a friend or two to take the class together with.
P.P.S.Just so you know this isn’t a crazy dream, here is an email I got today from Janet that put a huge smile on my face.
“Thank you for giving me “a new and living way”–a way to enmesh myself in the scriptures and to discover new insights thru the richness of the Greek language! I have been in inductive Bible study for the past 30 years, and have been teaching using that method for the past 20 years. But the missing part has been, “What does it really say in Greek?” Now I can find out for myself, and also be used to teach Greek to others as I lead our inductive Bible study on the Gospel of Luke (with the class using Dr. Bock’s wonderful commentary as a resource 😊). So you now have “grandchildren” as Greek students.:-)
Thank you so much for being used by God to restore my spirit as I study God’s Word in Greek!
How long is each live class? I live on the east coast in Florida and 10pm is a late start but something I can do.
The live sessions will be 45 minutes, from 8:00-7:45 PM on Tuesday nights. I have a lot of interest from students all over the world so I have decided to offer three things that should make this work for anyone, even if you can’t make the lives session.
All of the live sessions will be recorded and archived. You can go back and watch them at any time.
I will create a private Facebook group for this class where you can get to know each other and ask your questions.
This is Greek for EVERYONE, after all. I want to make this work for YOU.
How long is the total course? How may weeks?
The class is 10 months long. It moves slowly to make it easy for you to catch up if you get behind and make a little Greek a part of every week. My goal is to help you form a lifelong habit that will become a vital part of their faith and ministry.
Here is the syllabus for the class. Don’t worry if you have to miss a week here and there. As I said, you will be able to catch up and work ahead to make this fit your schedule.
Being this is a tough subject matter, can tests be retaken?
Yes. As many times as you like.
Will you be available for direct conversation for questions?
Absolutely! You may ask questions in our private Facebook group, post them on Voice Thread, ask them in our live sessions, or send me personal emails. My students in this class will be a top priority.
How many hours per work of work will it take to complete?
2-3 hours a week will do the trick. If you do this consistently, you will be amazed at your progress. You really can’t cram Greek. It must become a lifelong habit. My goal is not just to teach you Greek. I also intend to show you the value and use this course to create a lifelong habit that will greatly enhance your understanding of Scripture as well as your life and ministry.
